To run in tandem with the Canon Skijoring film activity, we brought Skijoring champion Franco Moro’s adventure to life in a series of still photographs. Working with Canon extreme sports ambassador Richard Walch, we ensured that the powerful Canon kit was demonstrated to the very limits of it’s capabilities by capturing the crisp, brutal nature of winter.
These images showcase Canon's professional advantage over speed, durability and performance in low light conditions over the (at that time) ever-growing cameraphone market.
The conditions in Ushuaia, Patagonia were demanding to say the least. The very reason we chose somewhere so extreme to put the Canon equipment to the test. Within minutes our phones had died with a warning that no-one receives... 'Your phone is too cold, please return to a warmer environment to charge it.'
Naturally, Canon professional equipment can deal with all of this. Batteries can't, which is why we traveled at all times with a suitcase of about 80.
